Description

The National Park Service (NPS) intends to award up to five concession contracts for glacier landing air taxi and glacier landing scenic air tour services for the public within portions of Denali National Park and Preserve. The proposed contracts will have a term of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2016. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contracts, the proposal instructions and proposal package (including the selection factors). The solicitation, selection and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51. In addition, the NPS has determined that Hudson Air Service, Inc. is a historical operator eligible to be awarded a contract for their historic level of use. Therefore, the NPS intends to award a concession contract for the same service and the same term to Hudson Air Service, Inc. for their historic level of use of 180 glacier landings for air taxi services and 50 glacier landings for scenic air taxi services. This contract will be awarded pursuant to section 1307 of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act, 16 USC 3197 and 36 CFR 13.80-13.82. Generally historical operators have a right to continue to provide the same kind and scope of service that they were legally engaged in providing prior to January 1, 1979 pursuant to 36 CFR 13.82(a). The park intends to release the prospectus on February 22, 2006. The responses must be received by the National Park Service by 4:00pm on May 3, 2006 at National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, Division of Concession Management, 240 West 5th Avenue, #114, Anchorage, Alaska, 99501-2327 or Denali National Park and Preserve, Talkeetna Ranger Station, Attn: Concessions Division, P.O.
