Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, is seeking potential sources commercial off the shelf (COTS), Walk-Thru Metal Detector (WTMD) Portals. These portals are used at checkpoints to detect conductive materials (any material that will conduct an electric current). WTMD portals are typically used to detect the following: 1. Weapons with metallic components, 2. Illicit materials with metallic components, and 3. Explosives with metallic components. The checkpoints may be located indoors at! the entrances of the following sites: 1. Private and Government Buildings, 2. Prisons, 3. Courthouses, or Military Installations. Checkpoints may also be located outdoors for temporary use as follows: 1. Special events (sporting team events, concerts, etc.), and 2. Train, bus, or ship boarding areas. The submitted information will be used to populate a Government database. This is a sources sought announcement and the Government will not provide reimbursement of costs associated with the documentation submitted. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Interested Parties should reply by submitting a response no later than 17 March 2006 to DLGR_NSWC_J13@navy.mil or Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Attn: J11, Building 1460, Room 2103, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100. Electronic Responses are encouraged. Please reference N00178-06-Q-3012 when r esponding. Questions may be submitted to either of the above. No further information is available from the Contracts Division. Vendors should complete the form(s) for each of their WTMD models (indoor WTMD?s and outdoor WTMD?s), that are COTS available. In addition, vendors are requested to provide customer references on the page provided.
