Description

The U.S. Coast Guard, Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic (vpl) proposes a contract for the dockside maintenance to the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB-30) three (3) Main Diesel Generators model # 3612 (MDG-3612) and Auxilliary Diesel Generator model # 3508 (ADG-3508) Caterpillar engines, at the cutter?s homepier IAW the Caterpillar 3512 and 3508 tech manuals and New MACKINAW PMS cards MQ 2004, MQ 2003 and MA 2013. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for certain commercial items. The NAICS Code is 333618 and the SIC is 3519. This requirement is being solicited open to both small and large businesses. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ), on or about 23 March 2006 with quotes due on or about 30 March 2006 via the Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web page at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. DRAWINGS: The vendor is responsible for acquiring the Caterpillar 3512 and 3508 tech manuals, however, the vessel have available hard copies of both manuals. The New MACKINAW PMS cards MQ 2004, MQ 2003 and MA 2013 are available electronically. The home pier of the vessel is 632 Coast Guard Drive, Cheboygan, MI. 49721. The vessel?s availability is for four (4) calendar days, starting on or about 10 April, 2006. The vendor must provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the required maintenance, must be able to provide certified caterpillar service technician, and factory warranty when services are completed including but not limited to the following Base items: Check and adjust valve lash (engine topend adjust) on the three MDGs-3612; Test of engine over speed protection on all four generators; Inspection of and check torque specification of engine mounts on all four generators; travel and per-diem.
