Wolfe Ave., Edwards AFB, CA 93524 SUBJECT: Nanocomposite spray ablative coating REF NO.: F1SBAA6072b702 DUE: 31 Mar 2006 POC: Deanna Wright, deanna.wright@edwards.af.mil; 661-277-7706 (ph), 661-275-7859 (fax) DESC: The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 13. ?Offeror Representations and Certifications? per 52.213-4 -- Terms and Conditions ? Simplified Acquisitions (Commercial Items , Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Texas State University San Marcos, 601 University DR, San Marcos, TX 78666. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 334516. The following item will be procured: Polymeric materials and Thermospray research and development of a nano-reinforced thermoplastic insulation specifically for solid rocket motors. Nano-reinforced sprayable polymers shall have the capability to exceed the current level of reinforcement necessary to provide ablative performance for elastomer and adds significant weight to the coating also shall increase the utilization of carbon fibers, more elastomeric polymers and demonstrate improved performance for this effort without negatively affecting one of the four properties necessary to provide the AFRL with their requirement. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete technical quote, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. In addition, the response should include any special requirements for a Research and Development contract in accordance with FAR Part 13. Anticipated Award date is 7 April 2006. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 4:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, 5 April, 2006.
