Description
SOURCES SOUGHT CONUS Material Handling Equipment Rental Contract for Surge & Augmentation of Deployable Depot (DDx) The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is seeking sources to provide short term rental of material handling equipment for surge and augmentation in support of the Defense Distribution Center?s Deployable Depot (DDx), whose mission is to assist Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in responding to natural disasters Continental United States (CONUS) wide. DDx will provide FEMA with a rapidly deployable and scaleable distribution center for distribution support, ensuring those affected by natural disasters receive timely assistance. This request is for information prior to drafting and releasing any resultant solicitation. The information contained in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date, is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Interested vendors are encouraged to provide information regarding capabilities to meet this requirement. Please provide information no later than 1500 EST on 25 May 2006. DDx will provide distribution support services in response to natural disasters CONUS wide. It is anticipated that such distribution support services require the use of the following Material Handling Equipment: Type of Equipment Specifications 6K Diesel Forklift 180? lift, 42? forks, 24? LC, 42?free lift, sideshift 10K Diesel Rough Terrain Forklift 48? lift, 31? reach, 48? forks, 24? LC 6K Electric Forklift 180? lift, 42? forks, 24? LC, 80 V Battery, free lift 95K Diesel Container Handler Minimum capability of stacking 40ft containers at least (2) high. 8ft. forks, diesel While it is anticipated that DDx will possess sufficient quantities of equipment, a pre-existing short term rental contractual vehicle to augment this equipment is required to support surge or unknown workloads, given the nature of the work in responding to unknown conditions caused by a natural disaster. This notice is intended to seek sources to fulfill that requirement. The period of performance for this effort is projected to be one (1) year with four (4) one year options. The rental contract is anticipated to be an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract with a minimum quantity of zero (0). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Offerors shall demonstrate, in the form of a capability statement, their ability to meet the following minimum requirements: 1. Deliver up to five (5) 6K Diesel Forklifts. Delivery location could be anywhere within the Continental United States (CONUS). Delivery shall occur within ninety-six (96) hours of being issued a Delivery Order. 2. Deliver up to one (1) 10K Rough Terrain Forklifts. Delivery location could be anywhere within the Continental United States (CONUS). Delivery shall occur within ninety-six (96) hours of being issued a Delivery Order. 3. Deliver up to five (5) 6K Electric Forklifts. Delivery location could be anywhere within the Continental United States (CONUS). Delivery shall occur within ninety-six (96) hours of being issued a Delivery Order. 4. Deliver up to one (1) Container Handler. Delivery location could be anywhere within the Continental United States (CONUS). Delivery shall occur within ninety-six (96) hours of being issued a Delivery Order. 5. Provide a full service maintenance package, including the potential for immediate replacement (if unserviceable), on all equipment during rental period. All interested Offerors should provide a brief capability statement of how you will provide the requirements addressed above. The capability statement should include, as a minimum, contractor?s business size and socioeconomic status, cage code or DUNS number (if available), identification if you are a GSA schedule holder, and a point of contact with name, title, phone and fax number and email address. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought announcement alone or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
