Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDIV Newport intends to place a sole source order with Dynatron Systems Corp., Davenport, FL to modify a Sensor Array to accommodate Chesapeake Sciences Corp (CSC) data telemetry and hardware configuration interface requirements. This sensor array was provided to NUWC by Dynatron under a previous order. The basis of the sole source is that Dynatron proprietary knowledge of the existing system is needed for modifying their software to ensure compatibility between the two systems. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Solicitation will be issued in less than 15 days per FAR 5.203(a) & (h). The solicitation will be made available no earlier than 22 May 2006. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
