Description
Scope of Work: 1. The prospective contractor shall complete all work using appropriate trade methods, with work being completed in a neat uniform manner. 2. The prospective contractor shall remove the existing unit and replace with new unit. Unit will be connected to a new curb and or curb adapter, supplied by prospective contractor. 3. The new unit shall be connected to a new twenty-two-gauge flanged metal insulated duct system (supply and return). The new duct system shall include supply air grills, diverters, and flexible ducting. All duct-work shall be properly supported and terminated with a damper installed at each tap for test and balancing. 4. A maximum distance of eight feet for flexible take-offs will be maintained. 5. Ducts will be insulated with 2? foil backed Insulation. Installation shall be completed in a neat manner and all refuge cleaned up and disposed of. 6. The new unit shall have condensate drain with a trap and be diverted off the roof. 7. The prospective contractor shall connect to existing gas supply using stainless steel flexible line. 8. The prospective contractor shall connect to existing 480 volt power supply. 9. The prospective contractor shall adhere to the laws governing the removal and disposal of refrigerants. 10. The prospective contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, tools, and labor to complete all installations according to proper trade methods. 11. The prospective contractor will be responsible for removing all old ducting and debris from Coast Guard property. Existing A/C unit will remain the property of the U.S. Coast Guard 12. The prospective contractor shall test run each unit and measure voltage, amperage, and air velocity readings and make necessary adjustments. These readings shall be made available to the Facilities Manager. Equipment Characteristics: 1. The new unit shall be Trane 7.5 ton package downdraft system with natural gas heat. 2. Unit shall have a minimum EER of twelve. 3. Unit shall have protective grills for the condenser coils. 4. Unit shall have refrigerant line driers. 5. New digital thermostat shall be included, non-programmable but capable of being locked out. 6. Unit shall be equipped with fire detection shutdown. 7. The new unit shall have a minimum one year parts and labor warranty and five- year compressor warranty. 8. Condenser shall be coated for protection from a corrosive salt-air atmosphere, preferably a light color to make possible the recognition of contamination. 9. Unit shall be 480/volt 60 Hertz down draft with fresh air damper.
