Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) has a requirement to purchase blood glucose monitoring data on 36 children. A Statement of Work describing the services in detail will be provided as part of the Request for Quote package. The Institute intends to obtain this service by other than full and open competition from Mt Washington Pediatric Hospital, 1708 W Rogers Avenue, Baltimore, MD. To the best of the Governments knowledge the proposed contractor is the only known source that can provide data on the blood glucose profile in response to low and high glycemic index meals served both in a controlled clinical setting and in the home setting, using continuous glucose monitoring technology, in youth with type 1 and 2 diabetes. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-06-886 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is June 29, 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774B, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: V.
