Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District is initiating a commercial items Request for Quote (RFQ) to acquire major components for the Vicksburg Districts Dustpan Dredge JADWIN Propulsion System Overhaul and Modification. The Dredge JAD WIN is a river dredge. The JADWIN propulsion system is comprised of twin 1200 HP electric motors, driving propellers in hull tunnels. The Government is procuring the following major components to overhaul the existing propulsion system and to improve the e fficiency of the system. The major components to be procured are as follows: a.) Two propeller nozzles, 83 inches ID (proprietary design of CT Marine, 86 Fort Road, Edgecomb, Maine 04556), b.)Two propellers, 82.25 inches diameter, Stainless Steel or Aquall oy, with an option to procure two additional propellers, c.) Two ABS Grade II steel propeller shafts, 7.75 inches nominal diameter by 25 feet 6 inches approximate length, with an option to procure two additional shafts, d.) Two stern tubes (for the above), steel, approximately 6 feet long. Nozzles, propellers and stern tubes are to be delivered to the Ensley Engineering Shipyard, 3 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, no later than 20 calendar weeks after date of contract award. Propeller shafts are to be de livered to the Ensley Engineering Shipyard no later than 21 calendar days after the Government provides the contractor with the shaft length dimensions, and the shaft couplings. The Government may exercise the options anytime within 14 calendar days of awa rd. If exercised, optional propellers are to be delivered to the Ensley Engineering Shipyard no later than 24 calendar weeks after date of the award of the option. If exercised, optional propeller shafts are to be delivered to the Ensley Engineering Shipya rd no later than 60 calendar days after the Government provides the contractor with the shaft length dimensions, and the shaft couplings. Drawing submittals for final review will be made no later than 21 calendar days after date of contract award. This acq uisition will be performed using the procurement process prescribed in Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The RFQ is intended to be issued on or about 13 June 2006. RFQ W912BU-06-T-0058 will be available at the FedTeDS website, www.fedteds.gov, on or about 13 June 2005. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this RFQ (including drawings) and all amendments from the Internet Web Page at the following address https://www.fedteds.g ov on or after the issue date of the RFQ. The official media of distribution for the RFQ is the FedTeDS website. All amendments to this RFQ will be posted to the FedTeDS website at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is contractor resp onsibility to monitor the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov for notification and links to any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web Page. If any of the contractor information changes during the advertisement period, c ontractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile at the FedTeDS website. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receiving notification of the RFQ and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the RFQ and any amendments. Quotes will be due on or about 29 June 2006. NAICS code is 332999. Size Standard 500 employees. Bonding is not required. All contractors are required to be registered in the DOD Central Contract Register before award as requ ired by DFARS 204.7300.
