Description

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) order under BOA number N00019-05-G-0008 for services and engineering support necessary for the integration of the Tomahawk All Up Round (AUR) capability into the SSGN Class Nuclear Submarine. This effort includes the systems engineering; system configuration drawing review; a detailed engineering review of the interfaces between the AUR and the SSGN/Multiple AUR Canister (MAC) Launcher and the SSGN Weapon Control System; review and comment on the preliminary change notices documentation; and associated program management supporting these efforts. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to Raytheon Company, P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, Arizona 85734-1337. Raytheon is the only company capable of performing this effort. Since 1994, Raytheon has been the sole developer, designer and manufacturer for the Tomahawk AUR. Raytheon solely possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data for the Tomahawk AUR missile. Raytheon currently manages the key requirements, interface, integration, and verification documents for the Tomahawk Weapons System. Because a detailed knowledge and expertise of the Tomahawk missile is required to perform the services and engineering support necessary for the integration of the Tomahawk AUR capability into the SSGN Class Nuclear Submarine, Raytheon is the only source capable of accomplishing this requirement in the required timeframe and without duplication of costs.
