- Description
- The Health Physics Group of the Safety Health & Environmental (SHED) Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for processing and disposal of surplus activated shields. These surplus shields contain low amounts of radioactive isotopes that require them to be disposed of in accordance with 10 CFR61.55 and other prevailing state regulations at facilities licensed by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) Agreement States. A complete list of requirements will be included in the Request for Proposal (RFP) Number SB1341-06-R-0012. This procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 15 as an unrestricted, full and open competition. The NAICS code for this procurement is 562211 with a size standard of $11.5M. The Government anticipates making an award for a Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. The period of performance of the IDIQ contract will be 2 years (a 2-year base period with no options). The ceiling amount for task orders awarded under the contract will be $1 million over the 2-year base period. The minimum guarantee will be $50,000 over the 2-year period. The evaluation methodology will be a best-value tradeoff process. Specific requirements will be included with each Task Order. The solicitation, solicitation amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about June 23, 2006 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offorers are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract.
