Description

TACOM Rock Island Force Protection intends to negotiate on sole source basis with RACOM Corp, 201 W State, Marshalltown IA 50158-5841 for portable, mobile and base radios that work with the RACOM trunked radio network; as well as the lights, sirens a nd Mobile Data Terminals using RACOMs unique equipment. Service and replacement of these items for 1 year is also to be provided along with 24/7 within 20 minute on-site service. RACOM Corp is the only company authorized to service this equipment used b y the Rock Island Arsenal police and fire departments, therefore, RACOM is the only vendor who can provide this service. Acquisition is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)- Only one responsible source and no other supplies/services will satisfy the agency requirement. This notice is neither a request nor an invitation for quote. However, all informati on received by the close of business on 6/23/06 will be considered by the government. Information received will only be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compe te this proposed contract action based on responses to this will be entirely at the didscetion of the Government. No formal solicitation package is available. The Government will not be responsible for any costs in preparation of responses to this announ cement.
