Description

ROADS CONSTRUCTION PROJECT F.A.I.R. 69(1): The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Regional Office, seeks construction firms which can provide all labor, materials, equipment and services to grade, drain, place aggregate base course, hot asphalt concrete pavement, final fog seal, pavement markings and install guardrail on 7.71 miles on BIA Route 69, Apache Nation, Navajo and Apache Counties, Arizona. Bids shall be in conformance with the unit bid schedule. Estimated price range is: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. ISSUE DATE IS O/A 30 JUNE 2006. BID OPENING DATE O/A 03 AUGUST 2006. THIS PROCUREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR 51% INDIAN-OWNED AND CONTROLLED FIRMS UNDER THE "BUY INDIAN ACT." 25 U.S.C. 47, Section 7(b) of P.L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 250e) requires that preference opportunities in employment and training Be given to Indian/Alaska Native individuals and that preference in award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaska Native economic enterprises. Indian firms bidding under this Act must self-certify they are eligible under the "Buy Indian Act."
