Description
SCOPE OF WORK FOR Re-Keying Mechanical & Custodial/General Rooms General: Contractor will provide all labor, supervision and materials to replace existing cores with Corbin Russwin model CL3300. All work will be may be completed during normal building hours. Contractor will also perform any necessary clean up to maintain a safe passage way in the hallways. This includes but not limited too, removing any debris, sweeping and damp mopping floors in any area affected by their work. Contractor is responsible to provide any cleaning equipment that is deemed necessary to clean work area. A list of the cores that need to be replaced will be provided. Contractor will have 90 days from date of award to complete work. Description: Contractor will re-core existing locksets with a building master/sub master core and two (2) keys. One hundred and forty four (144) cores are to be replaced and assigned to a building master system with a sub master. One hundred twenty six (126) cores/keys should be assigned to a mechanical master key and eighteen (18) cores/keys should be assigned to a custodial/general sub master key off the mechanical master. The master and sub master keys should not be easily duplicated. Assigned building staff will be able to request duplicates from a local area provider. Cores must me interchangeable with the Corbin Russwin CL 3300 and include two (2) keys. The U.S. Custom House is a Historic building; the contractor is responsible to maintain the historical integrity of the areas that they are working in. Building hours 7:00AM to 5:00PM Parking One (1) spot will be provided. Workmanship a. All work shall be coordinated and scheduled with the Contracting Officer (CO) or his/her representative (COR). The CO or COR has the right to reject any unsatisfactory or unsuitable materials or workmanship. Any damage caused by the Contractor to the building, any of its contents or Tenants shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to correct in a timely manner. b. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the best practices of the trade. Inspection a. The CO or COR shall check all cores and door operations for proper operation prior to final inspection. b. Inspections may be performed by the CO or COR at any time during the installation. c. Final inspection will be made by the CO or COR to assure proper operation before final acceptance and payment will be granted. Warranty The Contractor shall furnish a one (1) year warranty on all parts and materials installed. Debris Removal a. All debris generated during the implementation of the contract shall be removed from the work site and disposed of on a daily basis. b. All debris shall be removed from Government property at the expense of the contractor. c. The work area shall be cleaned on a daily basis. Health and Safety a. All work shall comply with the applicable requirements of 29 CFR 1910/1926 and 40 CFR 761. All work shall comply with applicable State and Municipal health and safety requirements. Where there is a conflict between applicable regulations, the most stringent will apply. b. The contractor shall provide all necessary safety equipment and ensure that such equipment and safety procedures are adequate for the job being performed and utilized properly. Start and Completion Dates Start date will be within two (2) weeks of Notice to Proceed and completion date will be thirty (30) days following the start date. Submission of Bids As part of the bid the contractor will supply the information as requested below: a. Cost will include all labor, supervision and materials to complete work. b. Contractor will include all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for any materials to be used. If there is a change in the materials to be used, between the date the bids are due and the start of work, the contractor is responsible to furnish to GSA, new MSDS, and three (3) working days prior to start date. This will have no effect on the completion date. c. Contractor will submit a detailed schedule for the work. Schedule will include at a minimum start & completion dates, dates, times, and location of work to be accomplished.
