- Description
- The Department of Energy intends to make a sole source purchase to Integrated Manufacturing Technology Initiative (IMTI), IMTI, P.O. Box 5296, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. Membership is for renewal of two year membership for the period of May 1, 2006 through April 30, 2008. IMTI Membership will provide opportunities for sharing information and ideas on a variety of issues relating to manufacturing technology. As an IMTI member DOE will gain a stronger voice in the national prioritization of manufacturing technology R&D challenges and implementation projects. DOE will increase R&D resource leverage through enhanced strategic intelligence and through partnering with other IMTI members to pursue high-priority, high-ROI opportunities. IMTI addresses emerging technology challenges through a systematic roadmapping process. IMTI applies a proven methodology to gather input from subject-matter experts in a facilitated process, and then compiles that input to create prioritized plans, roadmaps, and supporting documents. IMTI has created a number of technology roadmaps for various sectors on the subjects of Information Systems for Manufacturing, Modeling & Simulation, Manufacturing Processes & Equipment, Enterprise Integration, Intelligent Control, and First Product Correct. Membership establishes new R&D relationships with other IMTI members, customers, and associated industry partners. IMTI leverages proven analytical methodologies with the deep and diverse expertise of core staff members to provide comprehensive assessments for focused technology requirements. Membership allows usage of proprietary search engine Automated Knowledge Discovery System (AKDS) to identify, analyze, and retrieve who is investing in manufacturing technology across the manufacturing enterprise and identify projects from which DOE can benefit. The Automated Knowledge Discovery System provides the capability to analyze the nation's manufacturing R&D investment against specific criteria defined in industry roadmaps. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation and there will not be a solicitation issued as a result of this notice. Offerors who believe they can provide identical services/memberships to those defined in this notice are instructed to submit detailed information describing their membership and submit a quote of membership prices by the closing date specified herein. Questions will not be entertained and phone calls will not be accepted. Submit responses to Maria D. Vasquez at mvasquez@doeal.gov.
