Description The Savannah District, US Army Corps of Engineers is conducting an Industry Day to exchange industry knowledge and ideas to assist in the development of the Request For Proposal for the Advanced Metal Finishing Facility, FY07 located at Robins Air Force Ba se GA. The date for this Industry Day is 10 July 06 starting at 0900 hours (registration begins at 0800 hrs) and will be held at the Comfort Inn located near Robins Air Force Base GA. Directions to Comfort Inn are as follows: From I-75, take Exit 146 hea ding east on Watson Blvd (Hwy 247 Connector) through Warner Robins. Watson Blvd will dead-end into GA Hwy 247. Turn right and go south for 1.5 miles. The Comfort Inn is on the right just before the Russell Pkwy exit. The government's design and construction strategy for the Advanced Metal Finishing Facility, Robins AFB GA, FY07, UHHZ033011 is to construct a medium bay single story building (approx 9113 SM) with partial basement on a concrete foundation, concrete walls, insulated metal roof, and 20' high basement for chemical containment and ventilation ducting. Building will also have offices for personnel, covered loading docks with ramps for receiving and shipping of aircraft parts and chemicals and all supporting uti lities. Project demolition will include one facility totaling approximately 4,460 SM. Project also includes installation and design of the advanced metal finishing process equipment required to modernize plating techniques, enhance productivity, and prov ide for Best Available Technology (BAT) and Best Available Pollution Control Technology (BAPCT), and provide enhanced capability to electroplate current and future workloads. This facility will provide Robins AFB with state-of-the-art electroplating proces ses in flexible modular plating lines. It will ensure the compliance with the new and ever changing environmental regulations. The government will award a single design-build construction contract through the use of a two-step design-build procedure, FAR reference subpart 36.3. KZF Design Inc., point of contact Mr. Alan Hautman, telephone number (513) 763-2886), 655 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202-6000 has been selected by the Savannah District to develop the Request For Proposal (RFP) for the Adva nce Metal Finishing Facility. KZF Design Inc. is soliciting specific information on advance aerospace metal finishing equipment including wet processes and equipment, dry processes and equipment (including new, but proven, technologies), vat solution proc essing equipment, and waste water processing/recycling systems. A form has been provided in the attachment and in order for this to be a productive meeting, we encourage you to read the attachment and if you have any questions place them on the provided fo rm and turn in prior to the start of the meeting. The form below has an area where individuals can submit specific information. Individual meetings will not be available to contractors with the design team. It is suggested that individuals wishing to su bmit (solicited) information complete the form below prior to arrival and submit upon the start of the Industry Day. Mailings will not be accepted after 05 July 2006. All contractor questions and information submittals will be collected at the start of Industry Day.
