Description
The QDR serves as a driving force towards transformation within the MHS. An initial step in transforming is the analysis of existing business operations for inefficiencies, duplications and gaps. This effort requires that business owners, leaders a nd information technology experts, readily understand business functions and use a common modeling language to communicate. A user-oriented, simple and intuitive business operations modeling methodology and tool is needed to visualize and document the wha t, when, who, where and which of current and future state business processes. The result of successful business operations design will lead to the development of more precise requirements, which systems engineering can use to design and develop informatio n technology solutions that better support the users. Since transformation will be on-going effort, the MHS OT and IMT&R intends to establish a trained, self-sufficient Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Team who will work with business owners to model b usiness processes impacted by the QDR initiatives. The MHS-OT and IMT&R intends to purchase eleven (11) licenses, to include intellectual property rights of the methodology, of intuitive, rule-based, purpose-based business operations modeling methodology and tool. The BPR Team of five (5) individuals will undergo training (in two sessions located in Washington DC geographical area) on the business operations modeling methodology and use of the tool.
