- Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the Unite d States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with The Works at Mystery Ranch ( Mystery Ranch ), 2010 N 7th Avenue, Bozeman, MT 59715-2576. This effort is to provide the Government with 48 M5-6 Active Backpacks for testing and evaluation purposes. Mystery Ranch has produced prototype active suspension backpack systems currently being evaluated the Government. This requirement is to test the capabilities of these systems when manufactured with alternate fabrics and components. Since the prototypes previously manufactured by Mystery Ranch will serve as the baseline for evaluation, Mystery Ranch is the only available source for this requirement. Therefore the contract will be awarded to Mystery Ranch. Questions concerning this acquisition may be add ressed to the above address, Attention: Mr. Richard R.
