- Description
- The purpose of the AIRSS PRDA effort is to perform system definition, allocate technical requirements document (TRD) requirements to the various subsystems, and assess whether the requirements allocation is supportable with components available by Key Decision Point B (KDP-B) in December 2007. AIRSS key risk mitigation priorities are schedule, cost, and performance. AIRSS primary mission is to provide DSP-like strategic and tactical missile warning and missile defense. The effort will be approximately 18 months in duration and composed of three distinct phases: System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), and Solution Refinement and Action Item Closeout. This contract will be a new start in FY07. While this PRDA effort may lead directly to the development of requirements for the objective system for the AIRSS program, the system development contract will be a FAR 15 full and open competition. The system development contract award is planned for June 2008. The solicitation will be attached to this notice.
