- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) webpage located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) website located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to procure, on a competitive basis, prototype shop precision lathe support services. This work will be performed in support of the NSWCDD Engineering Prototype Fabrication Shop. The primary focus of this contract will be precision lathe work for prototype parts; however, it is anticipated that the contract will also require material ordering, inspection/gauging, and other machine shop type work of prototype parts. The North American industry Classification System code is 332721, 500 employee size standard. This requirement is 100 percent set-aside for small businesses within a 60 mile radius of NSWCDD, Dahlgren VA, and FAR 52.219-6 Notice of Total Small Business Set-Aside (Jun 2003) is applicable. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities or submit proposals to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Attn: Code XDS11E, Bldg. 183, First Floor, Rm. 102, 17320 Dahlgren Rd., Dahlgren VA 22448-5100. This is not a request for competitive proposals. The anticipated release date for the solicitation is 7 August 2006. The anticipated award date is 1 October 2006. This will be a time and materials contract with some fixed price delivery orders possible. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory Procurement Division has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the acquisition arena; therefore, this synopsis with any applicable amendments will be available on the World Wide Web at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/wwwDL/XD/SUPPLY/. Vendors should regularly access the NSWCDD web site to ensure that they have downloaded all amendments. In order to be eligible for award firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
