Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to solicit interested contractors with capabilities to manufacture the MK83 Fin Assembly with the ADU-425/E Pallet Adapter. The MK83 Fin Assembly attaches to the 1000 pound, General Purpose Bomb. Specialized ski lls required are welding, heat treating, machining and metal forming. The MK83 Fin Assembly is palletized on a MK3 pallet provided by the Government; contractor is responsible for the ADU-425/E Pallet Adapter required to palletize the item. The MK83 Fin is approximately 42.98 inches long, 19.62 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 56.8 pounds. The MK83 and subassemblies are fabricated from steel alloys, cut, formed, machined assembled and welded to drawing requirements. Outer surfaces are powder coated in accordance with Navy specifications. The anticipated acquisition strategy is a 100% Small Business Set Aside, Best Value solicitation based on a three to five year IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) type contract with an estimated a ward date late in calendar year 2006 or early in 2007. Contractors interested in manufacturing this item must be registered in data bases: Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and U.S. and Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) to be eligible to submit an offer on a resulting procurement. This sources sought is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought or otherwise pay for information solicited. Responses to this notification should include company name and address, company size and cage code and should include a brief description of manufacturing capabilities and experience.
