Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institute of Health (NIH), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with EMMES Corporation, 401 N Washington St, Suite 700, Rockville, MD 20850 under the Authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1) (i), Unique Capabilities, for a modification to increase the volume of activity under the existing contract (Contract Number N01-AI-15448). This contract was awarded as a small business aside under NACIS Code 541710. The period of performance will remain from June 29, 2001 through June 28, 2008. The negotiated modification will increase its data coordination, analysis and clinical trial support activities for the significant increase in avian influenza clinical trials and pandemic influenza research initiatives. This increased volume of research studies to be conducted by the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases requires an increase in staffing and resources to meet the immediate and intensified clinical trial demands of the Institute. The proposed award represents a continuation of work originally awarded to EMMES Corporation under Contract Number N01-AI-15448. Offeror's who submit capability statements must demonstrate their ability to assume the work without undue interruption to the support currently being provided to the DMID and without unnecessary duplication of cost and effort. If there are responsible sources who feel that they are able to perform the requirement, they must respond by submitting the information required by Numbered Note 22 on/before the closing date noted in this announcement. See Numbered Note 22. No collect calls will be accepted
