Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 17, Audie L. Murphy Memorial Division, 7400 Merton Minter Blvd., San Antonio, TX, intents to enter into a sole source deferred equipment purchase plan with Masimo Corporation. The plan will allow the use of the following Masimo?s technology and services at no charge for: Part # 1310/1708, Radical RDS1Oximeter, #1585/1708, Radical RDS3 Oximeter, 1884, Rad 5v Handheld Oximeter with DCSC, #1842, Handheld Protective Boot, Masimo Sat Share Cables; #12949, GE Tram Internal Upgrade; #13108, GE Dash Internal Upgrade; #1849, Philips Adapter Cables; #1811, Patient cables; #1708, brackets; #1895, LNCS TC-Itip Clip Reusable Sensors; #1863 LNCS SCI Adult Reusable Sensors and #1896 LNCS TF-I Forehead Reusable Sensors. The above technology shall be provided at no charge with the understanding that this VA facility will purchase the Masimo?s LNCS ADT Adult Adhesive Sensors for use on this technology. The Masimo technology allows conversion of the currently used pulse oximetry systems giving them the ability to use the Masimo?s LNCS ADT Adult Adhesive Sensors. Masimo?s technology is accurate for conditions such as patient motion, low perfusion, and bright lights, which can confuse conventional pulse oximetry technology. It has proven to reduce false alarms and improve detection of true alarms especially those encountered while monitoring ambulatory patients on general floors. The Sensors and equipment contain Masimo?s proprietary software, and other proprietary information. Ownership of the equipment will remain with Masimo Corporation. This plan will be in effect for one year with one additional 12-month period. Either party may terminate this plan at any time with a 60 day written notice. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation/request for offerors. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Interested parties have until August 11, 2006, 4:30 PM CST to submit their qualifications and capabilities in writing. Such qualifications and capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Oral communication will not be accepted. If there are no responses to this notice within the time designated, this facility will commence with Masimo Corporation?s deferred equipment purchase plan. NAICS code is 3345100 and the size standard is 500 employees. Fax information to the attention of Lupe Ybarra @(210) 949-3777. All fax submissions must be followed up with a confirmation from the Contracting Officer at Lupe.Ybarra2@va.gov , or by phone 210-617-5170.
