Description

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis for a MFP-3D Stand Alone (MFP-3D-SA) to Asylum Research Corporation, 6310 Holister Avenue, Santa Barbara, California. Asylum Research Corporation is the sole manufacturer of the instrument. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334513. The acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business. To qualify as a small business, the manufacturer and the distributor must be classified as a small business under the NAICS code identified above. Asylum Research Corporation is the only vendor with an instrument that meets all the following required specifications: 1. XY Type Scanner (versus tip scanner). 2. Ability to do optical observation from above and below sample without use of an inverted optical microscope. 3. > 25 micron z-axis range. 4. Z-sensor noise < 0.4 nm Adev in 0.1Hz - 1KHz bandwidth. 5. Integrated programmable operating environment. 6. Ability to "Map" surface properties on Topology. 7. Temperature Controlled Liquid Cell. 8. High Temperature Polymer Cell. NO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of providing the required service as stated herein may submit a capability statement to document its ability to provide the required services, which will be considered if received by the fifth (5th) calendar day following the appearance of this announcement. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses or questions regarding this posting must be in writing and can be sent via email to Fred.Ettehadieh@fda.hhs.gov. No phone calls will be accepted. An award will be made in five (5) calendar days from the date of this notice. This sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition for commercial items in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
