Description
The purpose of this announcement is to increase the scope of CLIN 0023 ?Upgrade Cert (MSO-C145) MAGR 2000-S,? of contract FA8807-05-D-0001, awarded to Raytheon as a letter contract on 17 Dec 04, and definitized on17 Mar 06. The NAICS code of this acquisition is 334511, SBA size standard 750 employees. The following is a summary of the changes in scope resulting from the forthcoming modification to said contract: The Government provided Raytheon which software modules in the MAGR 2-S needed to comply with the Requirements and Technical Concepts for Aviation (RTCA) Document Number (DO) 178B Software Considerations in Airborne System and Equipment Certification. In doing so, the Government erroneously excluded four modules that should have been included, based on the false assumption that these modules would not share the same memory as the remaining software modules. Upon further analysis, Raytheon determined that memory sharing did occur. Therfore, the four modules need to be added to the scope of the effort in order for Raytheon to comply with DO-178B and thereby enable the MAGR 2K-S to be certified for Precise Positioning Service in National and International airspace. The following four modules titled CDU, Flight Instrument, Instrumentation Port, and RNAV will be added back into the evaluation for compliance with RTCA/DO-178B. Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems is the sole manufacturer of MAGR 2000-S and is the only known company capable of providing the Government?s requirements. Interested parties may submit a Statement of Capabilities no later than 18 August 2006 to the Contract Negotiator, Capt Mark Santasiero, 483 N. Aviation Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245, (310) 653-3846.
