Description
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), intends to award a sole source cost type contract to Computer Science Corporation, 4045 Hancock Street, San Diego, CA for the continued efforts to provide GEOSAT Follow-On (GFO) satellite Calibration/Validation (Cal/Val) support which includes assessment of on-orbit performance, conduct of payload calibration and data validation and facilitate the resolution of performance anomalies. GFO is a one-of-a-kind polar-orbiting satellite that provides highly accurate measurements of the topography of the ocean surface from which tactically significant features such as ocean fronts and eddies, wave heights, internal acoustic structure, and sea-ice edges are derived. CSC has a unique understanding of the full end-to-end system, from the satellite and its specialized payloads, through the downlink and ground support systems. In light of this unique skill set, CSC is the only responsible source capable of performing the required services that helps maintain GFO in a maximum operational state. The Government intends to award, on a sole source basis, a 5 year contract for the described products. This contract will consist of one base year and four option years. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responses received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Responses to this notice of intent to award to CSC should be submitted to Kimberly Reidy, Contracting Officer, Code 02-22H, Building OT4, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, 4301 Pacific Hwy., San Diego, CA 92110- 3127. For information regarding this notice, please contact Kimberly Reidy at (858)537-0288 or kim.reidy@navy.mil. See numbered note 22.
