Description

General: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), is soliciting proposals for firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the DOI National Business Center (NBC) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copies of this solicitation will be available. NO PHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are required to register at the NBC website. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will also need to be registered at the above listed site. This service is provided as a convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Offerors are responsible for visiting this website periodically. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the Central Contractors Register (CCR) on the internet at http://www.ccr.gov. No other notification will be issued. Solicitation documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML, and Adobe PDF. The tentative proposed solicitation issue date is on or about August 28, 2006. Title of Project: Wildland Urban Interface Hazard Fuels Removal Description: This project will consist of all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, supplies and supervision to perform Hazard Fuel Reduction using hand held tools and small machinery on National Park land located at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Atlanta, Georgia. The proposed primary project area is 15 acres containing White pine (Pinus Strobus), Virginia pine (Pinus virginiana), and Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense). In addition, the work will consist of creating a 30-foot buffer along the park boundary bordering private property (approximately 1500 meters). Objectives: Reduce overall arrangement and availability of fuels throughout each area, reduce the fuel arrangement and availability of all fuels in the area directly adjacent to the private property lines, improve firefighter and equipment access in the area directly to the private property lines, accomplish other resource objectives such as increasing biodiversity and protecting archeological features, and perform all work in an environmentally sound and cost effective manner. Type of Procurement: A Firm-Fixed contract is anticipated to be awarded. Estimated price range: $25,000.00 - $100,000.00. The NAICS code is 115310. The size standard is $6 million. This solicitation is a set aside for Small Business.
