Description
National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration?s Marine Operations Center ? Pacific has a requirement to provide all facilities, supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform repairs and modifications to the NOAA Vessel DAVID STARR JORDAN at its home port at the Scripps Nimitz Marine Facility, 297 Rosecrans St., San Diego, California. The work consists of but is not limited to the following: replacement of watertight door, clean ventilation system, overhaul of port service diesel, miscellaneous steel repairs, clean day tanks and settler tanks; and miscellaneous piping repairs. Electrical repairs which will primarily involve work on the main switch boards. Additional work may include navigational light fixture replacements, modifications to the machinery alarm systems, Venturi replacement, over haul fans modifications to the TSG and ballast installation for # 3 tanks. The vessel will be available for inspection 23-24 October 2005 in Acapulco, Mexico. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged by calling the vessel?s Port Engineer at (206) 553-7598.
