Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice for for timing system to aid in fitness and wellness activities for organizations and events on base by Buckley AFB, CO. The system is designed for users to wear a transponder (known as a "CHIP") to record activity. The "Chip" is extremely light passive radio transmitter, without any battery. It consists of a micro antenna and an integrated circut which can transmitt a unique 20 digit code. The "Chip" is inserted into a special hard plastic casing and can be worn by the atheletes on an adjustable easy-on easy-off velcro ankle strap. The "Chip" can also be mounted on a bicycle's front fork with a special light weight support case. An example of this system can be seen at http://www.amb/it.com/modules?name=systems&systemid=6. Required services are commercial, therefore, FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures shall apply to this acquisition. The contractor shall provide 100 reusable transponder chips, one measuring point and timing software. The North American Industry classification System Code (NAICS) is 334519. The small business size standard is 500 employees. Solicitation Number FA2543-06-T-0009 will be issued as an RFP on or about 25 August 2006.
