Description
NAICS Code: 333298 US Environmental Protection Agency intends to acquire on a non-competitive basis a Multi-Threat Wireless Detection System which would be needed for surveillance of hazardous chemicals, chemical warfare agents, and radioactive sources which would be needed for detection in four locations and monitored in a remote location by one operator: MSA Safesite Safepack Permiter Command Kit w/ Storage System for Safe Site and Safe Pac--1 each, Safesite Portable Detection System with H2S, C12, HCN, NH4, CWA, Radiation, GPS - 4 each, Safesite Calibration Kit -1 each, Ammonia Calibration Gas - 1 each, Chlorine Gas Sensor (Finite Shelf Life) - 1 each, HCN Gas Sensor (Finite Shelf Life) - 1 each, H2S Sensor ( Finite Shelf Life) - 1 each, VOC Sensors (No Finite Shelf Life) - 4 each, SAW Filters (No Finite Shelf Life) - 4 each, High Gain Atenna - 4 each, Combustible Sensors (No Finite Shelf Life)-4 each. THIS PROCUREMENT IS BEING CONDUCTED UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES (SAP) FAR 13. AWARD WILL BE BASED ON FIRM FIXED-PRICE. The EPA intends to acquire this system from Mine Safety Appliances, PO Box 426, Pittsburgh, PA 15230-0426. Award date is anticipated on or near September 8, 2006. No request for quotation is available. This Is Not A Small Business Set-Aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotation. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement should reference RFQ-0610-DTJ and may be submitted to jones.denise-t@epa.gov. Oral communications would not be honored in response to this notice. The following clauses are hereby incorporated by reference: 52.213-4 52.204-3 Taxpayers Identification (Oct 1998), 52.249-1 Termination for Convenience of the Government (Fixed Price)(Short Form) (Apr 1984). The contract will incorporate one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
