- This is a notice of intent to issue a requirement purchase order, on a sole-source basis, for commercial items in accordance with FAR Part 12 procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice. A written solicitation will not be issued. This action is being processed in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures including provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-09. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The place of performance is the Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. Under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, FMC Butner intends to issue a sole-source requirement purchase order to Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) for Urgent and Emergency speciality care of inmates at DUMC. DUMC will be utilized when qualified providers under the current Comprehensive Medical Services contract are not available.
