Description

Lakehurst Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst New Jersey has a requirement for the following items in support of the MH-60S and MH-60R Aircraft: Test Set, Countermeasures, AN/ALM-178A, P/N: A3274939, quantity of eleven (11) each for a required base year, FY06. An option for up to four (4) years for an additional six (6) AN/ALM-178A CM Test Sets per year is anticipated, for a total of thirty-five (35) test sets. The AN/ALM-178A is the Intermediate Level Support Equipment that is used to test both the AN/ALQ-144A versions 5 and 6 (AN/ALQ-144A (v) 5/6) infrared countermeasures (CM) sets which are systems on both the MH60S and MH-60R Aircraft. The AN/ALQ-144A (V) 5/6 CM Set is an OMNI directional Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) system, which function is to confuse the tracking and guidance system of the infrared missile. The Government intends to procure this under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. BAE Systems Information and Electronic Warfare Systems of Nashua, NH is currently the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the above listed items. BAE Systems owns the proprietary design right and technical data necessary to provide the required items. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
