Description
This is a Two-Phase Design/Build Best Value Source Selection Solicitation to design and construct Phase II of a multi-story Consolidated Academic Instruction Facility for the Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools (MCCSSS) at Camp Johnson, MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This project is considered Phase II of a two phase plan to consolidate six separate schools and related functions into a single facility, and will add approximately 72,000 square feet to the existing Phase I building. The building shall be constructed of concrete pile-supported concrete foundations, concrete floor slabs on fill, and a load-bearing masonry wall/steel joist-framed roof structure. The exterior envelope shall be designed to match Phase I construction. Mechanical systems include plumbing, fire protection systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Electrical systems include fire alarm, mass notification, information systems, public address, cable television (CATV), local area network (LAN), intrusion detection system (IDS), and closed-circuit television (CCTV). Special construction features consist of raised platforms in classrooms. Supporting facilities work includes site and building utility connections (water, sanitary and storm sewers, electrical, and telephone). Phase II site improvements will also include the construction of additional POV parking, landscaping, signage and approximately 3.5 miles of greenway trail. The project also includes demolition of five off-site buildings, M123, M124, M125, M126 and M127, to be vacated once the new facility is occupied. The approximate Solicitation Release Date is 15 September 2006. The solicitation is available in electronic format only. All documents will be in the Adobe Acrobat PDF file format via the Internet.
