Description
This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the Format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Reference Number N4446662352C16 is issued as a request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 97-19. This solicitation is One Hundred Percent Small Business Set-Aside. NAICS 332618. The Trident Refit Facility, Kings Bay, GA Request the following items. (1) Wire Rope 1 ? inch Diameter, 18 X 17 IWRC XIPS Rotation-Resistant on Wood Reel, with an independent wire core (same as a 19 x 7 rope). Quantity 575 Feet. This wire rope must be manufactured from Preformed and Uncoated wire with the following characteristics as outlined for Type IV, miscellaneous, Class 2 wire rope in Federal Specification #RR-W-410E dated 7 February 2002. The wire rope must be 1 1/2 inch diameter, Extra Improved Plow Steel (XIPS), Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), Rotate-Resistant, uncoated bright wire, 12 outer lays to be right regular lay and the six inter lays to be lang (left) lay wrapped around one solid lay rope, and have a minimum rope breaking strength of 185,600 pounds (92.8 tons). The 575 Feet wire rope must be provided with a Crosby Group G-416 (galvanized) open forged steel resin poured socket (use Crosby Wirelock Resin) on one end, and the other end to be seized with 45mm or larger, soft annealed wire or strand. The Crosby G-416 socket is to be provided with socket pin. Wire rope assembly shall be pressure lubricated with approved marine grade wire rope grease and provided on a single reel (32 inches minimum center diameter) with the speltered or rosin socket to the inside of the reel and bitter end on outside of reel for quick installation on crane. Wire rope must be provided with the Certification and Documentation requirement addressed in the next paragraph. The Wire rope manufacturer must provide to the rope distributor and the US Government a "Certificate of Examination and Test of Wire Rope and Wire Rope Products" Indicating the following: Description of wire rope provided. Customer (local Distributor) to which rope was sold. Customer Order Number: (Rope Distributor), Maker (manufacturer) of the wire rope. Rope diameter, Number of strands in wire rope, Number of wires in strand, Lay direction and type. Grade of steel in wire rope, Type of core in rope, Date rope was tested, Master reel number, Nominal strength of wire rope, Actual breaking strength of wire rope, Certificate Number, Register Number, Name of Contracting Agency or Company, which performed the wire rope certification, Notarized signature and date of the performing contractor/company of when the wire rope certification test was conducted. Government procurement contract number must be annotated on each "Certificate of Examination and Test of Wire Rope and Wire Rope Products" and each individual reel of wire rope provided under this contract must have its own "Certificate" and the reel must be clearly marked with the contract number, certificate number, and required wire rope information. Qty 575 Feet. (2) Wire Rope 1 3/4 inch Diameter 18 x 7 IWRC XIPS Rotation Resistant on wood reel. Quantity 650 Feet. This wire rope must be manufactured from Preformed and Uncoated wire with the following characteristics as outlined for Type IV, miscellaneous, Class 2 wire rope in Federal Specification #RR-W-410E dated 7 February 2002.
