- The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System anticipates awarding a sole source procurement to Smiths Medical for the procurement of (1) Forty (40) Cadd-Prizm PCS II Pumps, Revision G, Model 6101, stock # 21-8851 (2) Forty (40) Lock Boxes stock # 21-6181 and (3) Forty (40) Pole mounts stock # 21-6120. Salient characteristics include: Choice of Medication Cassette Reservoirs, IV Bags or Syringes; Cor-coded Pump, Tubing and Lockboxes to differentiate epidural and IV PCA delivery; Safety Features to meet JCAHO requirements (med cassette reservoirs lock directly onto pump and lockboxes keeping syringes, IV bags and pumps secure); PCA Delivery Mode Specs must have continuous rate 0-30m./hr or mg or mcg equivalent, 0-20 mg/mcg demand dose, demand dose lockout 5min-24hrs, drug volume 1000 ml or mcg/mg equal to be able to deliver in 1-12 hours user select, upstream occlusion sensor, air detector, keyboard lock function pump alarm with modifications (visual/audible alarms) including low depleted power status or med, hi pressure and Biomed Toolbox to allow for customization of pump parameters; Continuous infusion, programmed automatic dosing and demand dosing. Pump pouch, 9 volt alkaline battery, pump key, remote dose cord, carrying case, operator's manual and training with two year warranty to be included with price of each pump. Evaluation factors include: Pumps must be new with updated programming to allow the pump to program single concentration using a drip versus cassette or syringe system. Pumps must meet criteria for single concentration and single programming to reduce error as well as utilize in Hospice and acute post-op care settings. . Pumps must have accessories for use with the pump's functions for patient safety compatible to pharmacy policy on using only solutions versus cassettes and/or syringes. Lock boxes are clear housing devices that allow for security of up to 250ml or 1 mg morphine solutions while still allowing access to all pump functions. All items will be delivered to the Warehouse, Bldg. 100 at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744. NAICS code # 339112 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however, all quotations received on or before 4:00 PM, EST, September 20, 2006, will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date is on or before September 29, 2006.
