Description

The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NMVAHCS), located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Medtronic Neurological, 710 Medtronic Parkway NE, Minneapolis, MN on behalf of the VA Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center (VA CSPCRPCC) to provide Kinetra Neurostimulator Devices for the VA CSPCRPCC. These devices are required for the Cooperative Studies Program CSP #468 DBS Trial, ?A Comparison of Best Medical Therapy to Deep Brain Stimulation of Sub Thalamic Nucleus and Globus Pallidus for the Treatment of Parkinson?s Disease?. The trial is being conducted under Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) #G010287, assigned by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) which states that only these devices from Medtronic Neurological are authorized to be used. NO SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED. The contract period will from date of award through June 30, 2007. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within 7 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability and qualifications of the firm to provide these services. If no responses are received, the NMVAHCS will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Medtronic Neurological. NAICS Code: 334510, Size Standard is 500 employees.
