The item description is as follows: Work consists of providing all labors, materials, supervision, transportation, and equipment necessary to provide Musical Accompanist Services. Work will be performed at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. All work shall be in compliance with the Statement of Work. STATEMENT OF WORK Protestant 1100 Worship Service Musical Accompanist 1. GENERAL The Protestant 1100 Worship Service Accompanist (hereafter called ?The Contractor?) will provide instrumental accompaniment for the Protestant 1100 Service Choir rehearsals, performances and congregational singing for regularly scheduled 1100 Traditional Protestant Worship Service. Regularly scheduled services include Sunday 1100 services, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Thanksgiving Eve, Easter Sunrise, Christmas Eve and designated memorial or prayer services. 2. QUALIFICATIONS a. Proficiency in playing keyboard instruments to include piano and organ. b. A minimum of one year?s experience accompanying musical groups. c. A minimum of one year?s experience accompanying congregational singing. d. Ability to sight-read, transpose, and improvise music. e. Understand the theology and flow of various forms of Protestant worship. f. Sincerely desire to promote Christian worship. g. Support the ministry of the chapel staff and congregation. 3. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES a. Accompany the Protestant 1100 Service Worship Team(s) as instructed by the Protestant 1100 Service Chaplain or his/her designee in rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals are normally 1-? hours in length. b. Arrive no later than 30 minutes before the set time for the service to begin. c. Play prelude, postlude and other musical interludes as required by the Chaplain or his/her designee. Prelude will begin NLT 1050. d. Accompany congregational singing in worship services. e. Select instrumental music in coordination with the chaplain in charge of the service, or his/her designee. f. Ensure selected music is appropriate for the church season or theme of the day and blends contemporary and traditional Christian music. g. Make written requests for purchase of copyrighted music to the chaplain responsible for the service and ensure copyright laws are followed; and h. Submit to the chaplain responsible for the service an itemized invoice of services performed on the ?Request For Payment? form provided by the chapel. Submit the form as soon as possible after the last service performed for the month but no later than the second duty day of the next month. i. Serve under the authority of the chaplain in charge of the service. 4. SUBSTITUTIONS a. The contractor will provide a substitute when he/she will not be able to fulfill the contract temporarily. b. The contractor must provide a suitable substitute. A suitable substitute is one who meets the qualifications set forth in para 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d and 2e of this SOW. c. The contractor will notify the chaplain responsible for the service as early as possible when a substitute will be used and provide the chaplain the substitute?s name and phone number. d. When the contractor knows ahead of time he/she will be absent for a rehearsal and/or service, the selected substitute shall perform the rehearsal and the service to provide consistent leadership. e. Payment of substitute is the responsibility of the contractor. f. The contractor will not use a substitute for more than 15 consecutive rehearsals/performances, nor exceed 30 cumulative rehearsals and performances combined during the contract period. 5. PAYMENT The contractor will be paid monthly for services performed that month. The maximum number of services allotted may or may not be the maximum number of services required of the contractor. 6. CONTRACTOR PERSONNEL The contractor shall ensure all employees working on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base possess proper identification and/or citizenship documentation. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), employers may hire only persons who may legally work in the United States (i.e., citizens and nationals of the U.S.) and aliens authorized to work in the U.S. The employer must verify the identity and employment eligibility of anyone to be hired (Ref: U. S. Department of Labor: http://www.dol.gov/compliance/guide/aw.htm#whowhich) STATEMENT OF WORK Catholic Parish Musical Accompanist 7. GENERAL The primary function of this position shall be to service as Catholic Musical Accompanist at the Base Chapel under the supervision of the Senior Catholic Chaplain and Choir Director or designated representative. 8. QUALIFICATIONS Must be proficient in playing keyboard instruments to include piano and organ. One must posses a Bachelor's Degree with a Major in Music is preferred. Three years experience, in accompanying church choirs. Must have written references from previous position(s). Must have a general knowledge of Catholic Church music i.e., ability to read music and make appropriate selections for worship/special services. 9. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES a. Coordinate with the Choir Director prior to rehearsals and worship/special services to confirm chosen music. b. Function under the direction of the Senior Catholic Chaplain and Choir Director, or designated representative in planning the music program for the 1730 Saturday and 0930 Sunday Mass as well as special Mass music. c. Serve as Musical Accompanist for special services to include but not limited to; funerals/memorial services, and Holy Day masses as required. d. Conform to the schedule of Mass performances and rehearsal times established by the Senior Catholic Chaplain. e. Be present at services thirty (30) minutes prior. f. Maintain manual and pedal dexterity through regular practice on the organ and piano in the base Chapel. g. Be responsible for reporting needed repairs an tuning to the Senior Catholic Chaplain and the NCOIC, Chaplain Division h. Obtain approval of the Senior Catholic Chaplain or designated representative prior to being absent. When absent contractor is responsible for providing a substitute with qualifications as identified above, and for compensating the substitute. i. Weddings and wedding rehearsals are not covered under this contract. Arrangements and compensation for weddings will be between the accompanist and the wedding party only. 10. RELATIONSHIP The Catholic Musical Accompanist will report to the senior Catholic Chaplain and the Choir Director, or designated representative. 11. PAYMENT The contractor will be paid monthly for services performed that month. The maximum number of services allotted may or may not be the maximum number of services required of the contractor. 12.
