Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON SOLE SOURCE BASIS. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to issue a sole source contract to Megapulse Inc., N. Billerica, MA to upgrade and maintain the Accufix 7500 transmitter. The existing hardware and software is proprietary and only Megapulse Inc., may make the modifications. The Loran-C re-capitalization requires upgrades to allow transmitter integration with the remainder of the system. This upgrade will allow the Loran Support Unit (LSU) to move forward with a total system that meets signal performance and reliability needs for enhanced Loran-C. The contract period of performance will be for one year. The statutory authority for only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements is 10 U.S.C. 2304?(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The required services are available from only one responsible source. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition or unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency?s requirements. This notice of intent is not a Request for Proposal. No Solicitation documents are available. See Numbered Note 22.
