Hardware: This equipment is name brand specific by manufacturer part number and cannot be substituted due to application and hardware compatibility requirements. c. Maintenance: The current Sun28Or server has exceeded its life-cycle and is no longer eligible for extended maintenance coverage. Additionally, because SUN products are used on the Global Enterprise, the existing maintenance contract for service allows for continued support in the event of systems failure. d. Compatibility: The current infrastructure employed by the 1st IO Cmd utilizes SUN servers to augment the backup, storage, and recovery of critical Command and Control Data. The baseline initiative for continued data warehousing requires that the int egrity of the system be maintained through compatibility of application and hardware. The introduction of a like product of a different brand would impede continued maintenance of the Enterprise infrastructure. Additionally, because SUN products are us ed on the Global Enterprise, the existing maintenance contract for service allows for continued support in the event of systems failure. Therefore, no substitution is acceptable. This requirement is being accomplished via the Army Small Computer Program (ASCP) as mandated by the Deparment of the Army as the primary source for commercial IT equipment. Although the intent of this notice is not to solicit competitive quotations, interested sources are not precluded from identifying their interest and capability to respond to this requirement via e-mail to: xavier.hernandez@us.army.mil.
