- This notice is posted as an intent to award contract for commercial items. The items required under this contract will be deemed brand name in nature in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.211-6 - Brand Name or Equal. This notic e is not a request for competitive quotations, but a notice of the Governments intent to procure the following items: SW-CS36M- License - iNODE Server Version 4.0: Quantity required --1 each, SW-CE36S License - iNODE Enterprise Version 4.0 Single OS: Qu antity required 600 each, SV-CT360-0001 Service - iNODE Onsite Training & Knowledge Transfer, Per-Day : Quantity required --5 each, MT-CE36E-SILV Maint - Enterprise Version 4.0 Single OS Silver level service - includes updates, fixes, patches, and techn ical support (8:00am - 8:00pm Eastern Time Zone technical support Monday -Friday): Quantity required 600 each, MT-CE36S-SILV Maint - Server Version 4.0 Single OS Silver level service - includes updates, fixes, patches, and technical support (8:00am - 8 :00pm Eastern Time Zone technical support Monday -Friday): Quantity required --1 each, SV-GG360-0001 3 Dats on-site INODE Training & Knowledge Transfe: Quantity required --1 each. JUSTIFCATION FOR INSCOMs PROCUREMENT OF BRAND NAME OR EQUAL items listed above: a. Functionality: 1st IO Cmd requires the procurement of Persystent iNODE desktop management software for the NIPRNET. iNODE is required to manage system baselines, maintain desktop security and integrity, and assist with patch management. iNODEs funct ion to self-repair client computing devices is a unique ability that will assist the help desk in reducing downtime and response time of user systems. b. Hardware: This equipment is name brand specific by manufacturer part number and cannot be substituted due to application and hardware compatibility requirements. c. Maintenance: With the increase of network size, reduction of funding and manpower the use of iNODE will allow 1st IO Cmd to centralize and streamline the desktop management process. The ability to baseline, repair, inventory all client systems on the network will maximize man hours, reduce downtime, and increase security of all client systems on the network. In addition the ability to centrally inventory all software and hardware on the network with streamline life cycle replacement, and ultimately re duce costs. d. Compatibility: iNODE is the only product that ensures the various baseline for patches, software, and security across the enterprise can all be managed through one product, allowing for an economy of resources and a reduction in cost. Therefore, no sub stitution is acceptable. e. This requirement is being accomplished via small business set-aside f.
