Description
Sources sought and comments requested on plan to contract for Groundkeeping Services at Fort Lewis, WA. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, tools, equipment and materials to perform all work under this contract for groundskeeping services on 5.5 acres of lawn area at the 1st Special Forces compound. The contractor shall insure that all lawns/turf areas will be mowed during the months of March thru October and as necessary during the months of November thru February to prevent a shaggy appea rance. Lawns shall be cut to 1 inch height as possible but consistent with the lawn contour to avoid a scalped look. The contractor shall edge all the edges of the lawn contour. Power edging shall be done as required throughout the year to keep the edges c lean and overgrowth on the fence line to a 1 inch standard. Fertilization of all lawn area shall be done 4 times per year in March, May, July, and October. Fertilization shall be done in accordance with the recommended standard and practices to include at least 6-8 pounds of nitrogen per 1000 sq. ft. per year. Shrub areas shall be reasonably weed and moss free throughout the year. This may be done by mechanical or chemical means. Trees less than 16 ft in height, shrubs, and ground cover shall receive a majo r pruning twice per year to maintain the appearance and health of the plants. The Government intends to award a fixed price contract with a base year and four (4) option years as either a Service-Disabled Veteran business set-aside or as a Hubzone business set-aside. The size standard for any concern, including its affiliates, shall not be more than $6.5 million; NAICS: 561730. All offerors must have completed CCR registration. Information shall be accepted from all business concerns, but interested vendor s must indicate whether or not they are a small business as well as any other vendor categories under which they intend to submit information.
