- Description
- The following information relays questions and answers concerning this solicitation to all interested bidders. This announcement constitutes as an amendment to the combined synopsis/solicitation # Q1574060198. The response date remains unchanged. Question: Our discussion on Tuesday indicated that the dates for the move are from October 23, 2006 with a completion date of November 6, 2006. I do not see any restrictions for working over the weekends. Is this correct? Can we assume that we are to work with the Contact for the Division that is being moved and that a Division representative will be available over the weekend for whichever Division might be affected for moving over a weekend? Answer: Overtime, and work on Sundays and Federal Holidays is not authorized. Saturday work will only be allowed if the division representative is willing to work. Question: Are there any basic lodging facilities that we can arrange to rent for our crew on or near the campus? Answer: Just what is available in Gardiner. Question: Could you tell me how many personnel were on the job from the previously contracted moving company when everything was moved out of the headquarters building? It was also mentioned that a number of park personnel were utilized in moving the large safe to the Admin-Finance temporary facility. I seem to recall that someone said there were a total of 20 men involved and that was not an exaggeration. Could you confirm that for me and would we be able to arrange for park personnel again to aid in removing the safe? Answer: I think this could be arranged. Question: I recall seeing an older aerial photo of the campus. Do you have a map of the campus that we could use for managing our strategy? Answer: I'll have to look for this. I could get one Wednesday. Question: What are the restrictions (if any) about driving straight trucks on the grass for facilitating direct loading particularly where we would be dealing with fire safe file cabinets or the houses being used for offices? Answer: As long as you don't damage the grass it should be ok. Recommend putting down plywood. Question: When I first arrived for the meeting on Tuesday, I was visiting with J. Cunningham (?) about the move out of the headquarters. She indicated that she was asked to facilitate moving some items with a forklift you have there. Can we assume that we have the same access? Answer: The Supply Center forklift will not be available for use by the moving contractor. Question: You mentioned that the railing from one end of each deck on the headquarters building was removed and a scissor lift was used to facilitate moving items to the upper floors. You recommended that we use the same strategy. Are we to assume that your maintenance personnel will remove the railing and place caution tape, cones or flags at the affected areas? Answer: Your crews can remove the railing. It simply lifts out. Since your crews will be there, they should be responsible for placing caution tape, cones or additional safety measures as required. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (02-OCT-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
