Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), Arnold AFB TN, intends to award a sole source contract to GE Fanuc Embedded Systems, Inc., 12090 South Memorial Parkway, Huntsville AL 35803 for five (5) Board, PCI Reflective Memory, PCI Bus Compatible, Data Transferred @ 29.5 Mbyte/Second W/O redundant transfer, @ 14.8 Mbyte/sec W/redundant transfer, transmission mode fiber optic, 4Kbyte FIFO option included, 4 Mbyte reflective memory VMIC Model VMIPCI-5587-A-111, one (1) Board, VME reflective memory, VME Bus Comp, data transferred @ 29.5 Mbyte/sec w/o redundant transfer, data transferred at 14.8 Mbyte/sec w/redundant transfer, transmission mode: multi mode fiber optic, 4Kbyte FIFO option included, 4Mbytes of reflective memory, VMIC Model VMIVME-5588DMA-410, and four (4) Software, Reflective Memory Driver, Driver for VMIC Model VMIPCI-5587A reflective memory card for use with the Windows XP operating system. CD-ROM media distribution, VMIC Model VMIPCI/SW-RFM1-013-940. This requirement is to enhance the capabilities of existing equipment. Procurement made from another vendor would require significant redesign and software modifications. Estimated delivery time will be 45 days after contract award. This synopsis is approved for a sole source contract action as authorized in FAR 6.302-1 (supplies or services are considered to be available from only one source). No solicitation package will be issued. However, all interested sources may identify their interest but must provide proof of capability to provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered, and make and model numbers of the equipment. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis. If no favorable responses are received by close of business (4:00 PM CST) 30 October 2006, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source.
