Description

The Forest Service requires the removal of an existing 72 in. X 60 in. X 72 ft. pipe-arch culvert, and replace the pipe-arch with a 28 foot span X 16 foot wide timber bridge, incorporating a stream simulation bed designed to conform to the characteristics of a chosen reference reach located upstream from the crossing. Work includes, but is not limited to, dewatering the stream by a method approved by the COR, excavation and removal of existing culvert, excavation to sub-grade and construction of the timber bridge, re-grading of the stream channel and the hauling and placing of designed stream-bed simulation material, backfilling the bridge abutments and building and shaping of the road embankment, hauling and placing of riprap along wing-walls and stream bank, re-introducing the stream into the new channel, hauling and placing of aggregate surfacing and re-vegetation of slopes and disturbed areas. The project is located on the North Fork Ranger District, Salmon-Challis National Forest, Lemhi County, Idaho. The approximate start work date is August 15, 2007 and shall be completed by October 5, 2007. Proposals are due at 3:00 p.m. MST, December 7, 2006. The estimated price range is $100,000 to $250,000. A pre-proposal meeting will be conducted on November 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. MST. Prospective offerors shall meet at the North Fork Ranger District Office. Weather permiting, a site visit will be conducted during the pre-proposal meeting. The solicitation will be available on approximately November 7, 2006 and may be downloaded from this site at that time.
