Description

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service intends to award on a Sole Source basis the following requirement for The Data Universal Numbering System or D-U-N-S?? Number, on behalf the Government. This copyrighted, proprietary, system was created by Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) and serves as an entity-based numerical identifier for businesses. The D-U-N-S?? Number is assigned and maintained solely by D&B and is a unique nine-digit identification code assigned to over 100 million businesses worldwide. The U.S. Federal Government adopted the D-U-N-S?? Number as the standard business identifier for federal electronic data interchanges in October 1994. The D-U-N-S Number was also incorporated into the Federal Acquisition Regulation (clause 52.204-6) in April 1998 as the federal government??s contractor identification code. The sole source award is intended to be awarded to Dun and Bradstreet, for the period beginning October 1, 2006 through September 29, 2007.
