Description
By way of this Notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.203-1, The Chicago District U. S. Army Corps of Engineers announces its intentions to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed-Price Purchase Order to Indiana Geological Survey, 611 N. Walnut Grove, Blooming ton, Indiana for Computer Systems Design and Related Services to update an existing Internet Mapping Service (IMS). The updated Lake-Rim IMS Web site will include recently obtained GIS data for the Grand Calumet River Feasibility Study. The Lake-Rim IM S site was originally produced by the Indiana Geological Survey (IGS) and has been hosted by the organization since 1999. As the host of this site, the IGS must perform occasional updates and maintenance. The IGS has conducted many geological studies in the region and throughout the state, and are considered a prime resource for the Corps on spatial data development and analysis. The unique capabilities of the IGS for completing this work include the following: 1) IGS currently creates and maintains inte ractive, geospatial maps and databases on the Lake-Rim website for public use; 2) IGS has extensive experience with NW Indiana mapping and GIS technology; 3) IGS works with the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in Indiana, and is responsible for collecting, maintaining, translating, and making publicly available soil and geotechnical data for the state of Indiana; and 4) IGS produces a number of distinct IMS and other www applications. The proposed purchase order will be for a base period of twelve (12) months from the date of award with an option to extend for up to one (1) additional option period of twelve (12) months. This notice is NOT a Request for Proposals, therefore, NO solicitation documents will be issued. Award is anticipated on or about 11 January 2006.
