- This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. There is no solicitation package available. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst is seeking sources that may be capable of providing a Buddy Start Hose, part number 0043-0020-60-2 or equal which is required for the Organizational Level of Maintenance for the AH-1Z and UH-1Y aircraft. This requirement is currently satisfied by P/N 0043-0020-60-2, which was originally designed by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. The United States Navy is investigating the feasibility of procuring a Buddy Start Hose which requires two hose assemblies. The two hoses total 120 feet in length providing an H-1Y/Z rotor clearance of 66 feet parked side by side, or 56 feet parked nose to tail. The assembly includes a 3.5 inch diameter, 60 foot long pneumatic hose assembly with a MIL-STD external air receptacle coupling on one end and a standard flanged hose connector on the other. The assembly includes a Morman clamp that couples the flanged connector, dust covers for both ends and is packaged in a fabric duffel bag for storage and transport. The Government is looking for potential sources for this requirement.
