Description

The proposed contract is sole source to Essex Industries Inc., 6 Sunnen Dr, St. Louis, MO 63143-3903, as the only qualified source. Offers from concerns other than the above are not solicited. See Government-Wide Numbered Note 22. Vendors interest ed in becoming qualified as a source for this item would have to, at the vendors cost: a) actually manufacture or produce a quantity of 3 of each Grip Assembly that fully meet the Government Technical Data Package (TDP); b) submit these three Grip Assembl ies (3 of each) to the US Government for First Article Testing evaluation against the TDP; and c) if the items pass the First Article Testing evaluation, they would then be subjected to actual functional, on-vehicle testing to the performance parameters as required. If the items pass the testing, then the offeror would be included as a source and be qualified to compete on future actions under the terms of the solicitation. The total estimated testing costs to be borne by the vendor is $1.5M and the Govern ment testing and qualifying time is estimated to be 18 months. There is no guarantee an offerors items will pass the testing. An offeror who has become qualified to compete on future actions is not guaranteed to be awarded a Government contract.
