Description

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to install wire rope assemblies at the Navigation Lock Downstream Lift Gate at John Day Dam. The work involves installation of 32 wire rope assemblies and their appurtena nt fixtures, including 16 assemblies on the North side and 16 on the South side of the gate. Each wire rope assembly is 2.25 inches in diameter, approximately 200 feet long, and weighs approximately 1.5 tons, including sockets. It is anticipated that the re will be two construction periods, with the first one being 12 days during the March 2007 John Day Navigation Lock Outage for installation, and the second one being an 8-hour period within 5-10 days after the Navigation Lock Outage for re-adjusting wire rope tensions. Contractor may be required to work extra shifts in order to complete the work within these two critical windows. The magnitude of construction is $100,000.00 to $500,000.00. Tentative issue date is 15 November 2006 with bid opening 30 day s after issue. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns. This solicitation will be available via FedTeDs.
