Description

The announcement DESCRIPTION is hereby revised to read: The National Park Service intends to issue a prospectus for a new concession contract for ferry services at Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island before the end of December 2006. Interested parties will have 60 days after release of the prospectus to submit offers. The term of the new contract will be ten (10) years. Under the existing contract, any succeeding concessioner will be required to purchase all personal property used or held for use for ferry services by the current concessioner including the seven boats now in operation. The prospectus will provide all specifications for the new concession contract. In 2005, the gross receipts for this concession operation were approximately $35,500,000. Parties interested in submitting an offer for this business opportunity will be invited to a site visit at the Park on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. Participation in the site visit will not be required to submit an offer but attendance is encouraged. The site visit will begin at 9:00 am on Ellis Island. Access to Ellis Island will be provided from Battery Park in Manhattan and Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Interested parties MUST SEND AN EMAIL MESSAGE to david_funk@nps.gov indicating an intention to join the site visit and listing all attendees by full name in order to receive security clearance and additional directions by return email message.
